The Way to Success

今年的作文考题是对林肯这句话的评论文章。首先要明白这句话的内涵：“如果给我6个小时来砍倒一棵大树，那么我要用掉四个小时来打磨斧头。”也即我们的中文谚语：“工欲善其事，必先利其器。”讲的都是自身能力的准备对成功的重要性。乍看似乎没有一定的模板套路可循，其实不然。仔细分析不难发现，就题目而言，对于成功之路的探讨一直以来是一个比较有争议的话题，仁者见仁智者见智，且不说孰是孰非的问题，答案必是五花八门。所以在如此纷繁复杂的观点之下，大学生应该有一个什么样的观点才是最重要的。所以可套用我们课上练习过的争议型模板即可。不过最后的落脚点必须提到工具即能力的重要性---这样才能让我们做事情时事半功倍。

The way to success has long been a controversial issue among people. Some would argue that one’s ability determines everything just as Lincoln’s remarks indicate. On the contrary, there are still others who take different positions. They hold that opportunity is the most critical factor in bringing about one’s success. It is not enough for one to have competence and you must have a chance to exercise your qualification and present it. In my point of view, the way to success is a very complicated question which involves many joint factors. But the most important thing is we must prepare ourselves with a wide range of knowledge from many fields. Meanwhile, we’d better know how to grasp opportunities where we can take full advantage of what we have learned.
